10/16/2009 12:53:25 PM
Citing the need to understand what the "Community of Innovators” means Chamber President Rob Guidry gathered a wide array of member this morning for input. Fifteen new and multi-year members contributed their thoughts on the concept and the role of the organization in 2010 and beyond.

Serving as the integrator of the "Community of Innovators” is the Chamber's long-term goal. How to get there is a work in progress. This morning's session is one step in a series of meetings on painting the picture of a more progressive Lafayette Parish.

In a companion piece, the Chamber staff is compiling the results of the membership survey which gathered input on what such a community of innovators should aspire.

Early returns suggested:

*”A community capable of adapting to change and reinventing itself”

*”Up and coming hub for new and innovative businesses to migrate to this area”

*”The place to be”

*Promoting Lafayette as a community where business thrives and quality of life is a priority”
