Chamber President Rob Guidry was in attendance as students and supporters of UL's BeauSoleil Home wished Team BeauSolesil well today. The early morning gathering was a send off as the team of architecture and engineering students climbed aboard a bus for the first leg of their journey to Washington D.C. The team is to compete in the 2009 International Solar Decathlon.
The UL-Lafayette team is one of 20 worldwide invited to compete in the design competition.
"This is precisely the type of creativity that the Chamber will be celebrating during the "Community of Innovators” initiative over the next several years,” said Guidry. "I wanted to demonstrate the Chamber's support for the students who are involved in the contest to design, build and operate an energy efficient solar- powered structure.”
