The leadership of the Chamber's Energy Division has been strategizing on how to best approach federal energy regulators in the wake of the B.P. Gulf of Mexico oil spill. Various industry executives have are finalizing their talking points and identifying action plans to make their case to resume drilling activity.
Energy Division Co-chairmen Oleg Mikhailov of Chevron and Doug Keller of Knight Oil Tools are calling for a coalition of chambers of commerce and other like minded organizations to join in the advocacy position.
The Lafayette Chamber would then work through the national office of the U.S. Chamber to gain access to energy department and interior department officials.
