"In all my years as president of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry I have never work this hard on federal legislation,” said Dan Juneau. Juneau, who has been with the state business lobby since 1983, spoke to a packed house at the annual legislative breakfast this morning.

Juneau provided a status report on national issues that are impacting local firms as well as the national economy. He stressed that small business is reluctant to invest and expand due to the uncertainties surrounding the Obama administration proposals on healthcare, energy and labor unions.

Joining Juneau was the LABI Vice President of Governmental Relations Jim Patterson. Patterson's comments centered on the state budget. "We don't have a revenue problem, but, we do have a spending problem,” stated the long-time lobbyist.

The breakfast agenda included comments from local legislators. Citing specific areas of interest were state senators Mike Michot, Nick Gothreaux and Elbert Guillory. Additionally, representatives Taylor Barras, Simon Champagne, Page Cortez, Ricky Hardy, and Fred Mills spoke of legislation they were interested in.

A special thank you to all who attended the most successful LABI Breakfast.
