What does it take to become a 'Community of Innovators'? That's the challenge which the Lafayette Chamber has identified as a long term strategic goal.
Identifying, enhancing and promoting the quality of life issues which make Lafayette a desirable place to live and work is why Chamber staff maintains a high profile in the community. Your Chamber strives to have a presence at not only business related events (ribbon cuttings, grand openings, etc), but at functions and meetings that have an impact on the future of Lafayette. That's why you'll see a Chamber representative at the dedication of a community policing facility, attending meetings of the Lafayette Parish School Board or monitoring Lafayette City-Parish Council activities.
Also, we help spread the word to the community on topics of interest and importance. For example, Chamber V.P. Bruce Conque recently presented to the Realtors Association of Acadiana on the status of the comprehensive master planning process. Chamber President and CEO Rob Guidry routinely convenes groups of stakeholders in an effort to coordinate efforts between various groups who have an issue of mutual interest.
This community outreach and participation is essential to our becoming a 'Community of Innovators.'
