In an October 1 posing from The White House Blog the story notes "…National Energy Awareness Month, a national effort to underscore how central energy is to our national prosperity, security, and environmental well being… We must continue to invest in the wind, solar, biofuels, clean coal and other clean energy technologies as well as energy efficiency to create jobs of the future and compete in the global marketplace.”
Events listed for the month include an energy and climate symposium at UC Berkley, a green government symposium, the Atlantic Wind Energy Association Conference, The Energy Daily's Transmission Sting Summit, and the Utah Energy Star Summit.
The national observance is void of any carbon energy acknowledgement except to say that "we must redouble our efforts to pass comprehensive energy legislation that reduces our dependence on foreign oil…”
