First, he is a native and life-long resident of Lafayette; growing up in what was a small town environment and witnessing its development into a major Louisiana city. He has reported on the expansion of Acadiana as a broadcaster in both radio and television; anchoring local newscasts for nearly two decades before venturing into private business. As the owner of Lafayette's first video production company, he applied his experiences in radio and T.V. to the benefit of an extensive and impressive client list. He later branched out into public relations, marketing and advertising endeavors.

Along the way, he was recognized for his professional and community contributions on the local and state level. It was that passion for being involved that led to his seeking public office in 2004; and being elected to the Lafayette City-Parish Council. Following a successful reelection effort, he was offered a position with the Lafayette Chamber which he accepted because it was a timely opportunity to embark on a new phase of life; utilizing his extensive experiences in the professional and political fields.

Bruce is challenged with maintaining and increasing the Chamber's profile and participation in the business and civic community. He is also actively involved in forging a vision for the future; promoting private and public partnerships on the local and regional level with an eye to smart growth.
