In August, Lafayette's Painting with a Twist will host Painting with a Purpose, a benefit for Junior Achievement of Acadiana. Junior Achievement's purpose is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. The organization accomplishes this via community volunteers who go into classrooms and after-school venues teaching young people work readiness, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. That is the key: when kids know how a free market economy works and the correlation between level of education and career success, they are better equipped to make decisions about their future.
