10/12 Magazine: Lafayette Chamber rakes in the national awards - Wednesday, June 22, 2011

The Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce is raking in the national awards. The organization has been awarded five-star accreditation by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and is a finalist for National Chamber of the Year. The accreditation puts the Lafayette Chamber among the top 1% of chambers nationwide, recognizing the organization for its sound policies, effective organizational procedures and positive impact on the community. The Lafayette Chamber is also a finalist for the 2011 Chamber of the Year Award. Just seven chambers nationwide are vying for the top honor. The organization was commended for its strong connection between understanding member needs, linking those interests to the chamber's strategic focus and programs and communicating engagement opportunities to its members. Chamber President & CEO Rob Guidry and Vice President of Operations Cydra Wingerter will represent Lafayette at the finalist interviews during the 2011 Annual Convention in Los Angeles in August. Winners will be announced during a ceremony Aug. 4. That same night, the chamber will also be honored with a Silver Award for its website redesign. The chamber partnered with Bizzuka on the project. |
