LAFAYETTE’S PAINTING WITH A TWIST
WINS TOP PRODUCER AWARD AT ANNUAL CONFERENCE

Hometown girl Tammy Milam, owner of two area ‘art as entertainment' studios, Painting with a Twist (www.paintingwithatwist.com/lafayette), in Lafayette and most recently in New Iberia, was celebrated at the recent annual conference in New Orleans of all 44 nationwide franchises, winning the award for Top Producer for 2010! Tammy is a Top Producer in more ways than one, as one of her top priorities is her commitment to give back to the community. It is her popularity with the community which has made Painting with a Twist the all-around best evening out AND best value, and her gratitude is reflected in her generosity. She and her great team of artists hold monthly Painting with a Purpose events for local nonprofits. In 2010 Tammy hosted benefits for such worthy causes as Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the PHI Food Drive, the Change Agent Network, Haiti Missions, the Jacobs Foundation, the American Cancer Society, the Wild Cat Foundation, and others. In March, Tammy hosted a benefit for Trees Acadiana, donating 80% to the organization, which is dedicated to planting and conserving trees, urban and community forests. The primary goal of the organization is to maintain the community's living environment.
Tammy opened her first studio in Lafayette in July of 2009, and her second in New Iberia in March of 2011. The Painting with a Purpose ‘art as entertainment' step-by-step instructional art classes follow the tradition set by the New Orleans area founders of Painting with a Twist, which was established with the intent to provide post-Katrina victims with an artistic outlet as well as an enjoyable social experience. The Lafayette and New Iberia studios are part of a network of 44 corporate franchises in ten states, all of which have opened in the past two years, and its tried and true system is a winner! All franchises hold both two and three hour daily and evening classes and they encourage you to check the calendar, choose a painting, reserve your spot online or by phone, come in for a great evening, and leave with a masterpiece!
