The Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce announces that it has engaged the services of Mandi Mitchell as its legislative lobbyist for 2012. Mitchell owns Mandi D. Mitchell, LLC, a governmental affairs, business development and community relations consulting firm.
Mitchell is a native of Lafayette. She attended the University of New Orleans where she obtained a bachelor of science in Electrical Engineering. She completed the UNO Executive MBA program in 2003.
Prior to establishing her firm, Mitchell served as the Regional Manager of External Affairs for AT&T. Her engineering career included the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and BellSouth Telecommunications.
As a registered Louisiana lobbyist, Mitchell's repertoire includes issues within the areas of telecommunications, higher education, healthcare, oil and gas, and real estate. Her most recent success is her planning and implementation of statewide outreach for the Louisiana REALTORS' "Stay Tax Free” campaign, which resulted in the passage of Amendment 1 in the 2011 general election.

Mitchell's community involvement includes the Board of Directors of the Chamber, where she served as co-chairman of the Education Division. She serves on the boards of the705, the SWLA Center for Health Services, and the Lafayette General Hospital Membership Corporation.
Mitchell is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and a graduate of Leadership Southwest and Leadership Louisiana.
