Lafayette Chamber Supporting Congressional Resolutions on U.S. Energy Policy - Thursday, May 05, 2011
|
|
The Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce has added its name to backers of three U.S. House of Representatives resolutions on energy which are expected to be considered in the coming days.
H.R. 1229, the "Putting the Gulf Back to Work Act,” H.R. 1230, the "Restarting American Offshore Leasing Now Act,” H.R. 1231, the "Reversing President Obama's Offshore Moratorium Act, " being advocated by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in a letter to House members.
The three resolutions are considered major steps in the right direction for U.S. energy policy.
According to the letter, "These bills would ensure that offshore exploration permit decisions are more transparent and made in a reasonable time, legal challenges are hard fairly and expeditiously, and the Department (Interior) would no longer be allowed to slow-walk the offshore leasing process.” |
