Local Auto Group utilizes Facebook to raise money for March of Dimes - Thursday, January 13, 2011
Courtesy Automotive Group has teamed up with the Social Networking site Facebook to raise money for March of Dimes by utilizing Facebook's "Check-In” Feature. For the next several months, anyone who visits a Courtesy dealership and "checks-in” on Facebook will automatically have $1 donated to the March of Dimes.

Courtesy Automotive Group has been actively involved with the March of Dimes in the past year. They hosted a fundraiser in May of 2010 at Grant Street Dancehall and are hosting a Skeet-Shoot Tournament in the spring.

"We are offering a different approach to raise money for the March of Dimes,” says Michelle Hargroder-Simon, general manager of Courtesy Vermilion and 2011 Chair for the March of Dimes. "Instead of focusing on traditional sources to bring in money, we feel that Facebook is a great tool to encourage customer participation. Whether you come to look for a car, get your vehicle serviced or take the time out of your day just to stop by and "Check-In” it is all going to a better cause.”

The March of Dimes is active in preventing birth defects, premature births and infant mortality. The organization actively pursues donations to help fund education, community services, advocacy, and research.

The following dealerships are participating in this event: Courtesy GMC/Buick, Courtesy Vermilion in Abbeville, Courtesy Cadillac and Courtesy Ford Lincoln.
